Confessions of a Work At Home Mom

Confessions of a Work At Home Mom

After an entire year of senior life with proms, graduations, parties, college sendoffs and college pickup's (sometimes twice a month), can I tell you I am just now starting to see the light at the end of the transition road.

My second oldest daughter graduated from high school last year and I wanted to make sure everything was perfect for her. Making the transition between high school and college is a big step for our children. As parents we want to ensure they have everything they need to continue to strive for greatness and make their transition from teenagers into young adults.

In the beginning of  Kayla's senior year I realized early on that between taking senior pictures, finding the perfect prom dress, filling out college applications, finding scholarships, writing essays, college visits, college dorms and trying to find the perfect roommate (insert laugh) I had very little time to breath. With all that being said I had a ball y'all!

I also noticed that there was no way I could effectively help my daughter with her life transition and still work my La Bella Baskets Business full time. I made the decision to put my business on hold and focus on my children. Oh, I'm sorry did I forget to mention that I have a younger daughter as well who was also in transition. Well, let me introduce her to you. Her name is Jada and at the same time Kayla was entering her last year of high school, my sweet little Jada was beginning her first year of school in Kindergarten. Can we all say together it was a time of transition, releasing children and lots of tears flowing. Between college applications and ABC's I didn't know if I was coming or going half the time.

With all that being said, It was so reassuring to know that I worked with an awesome company and had a gift basket business that would continue to make income even when I didn't have the time to commit my full attention to. Whenever I talk to business prospects or new team members, I always tell them that this business has a lot of flexibility and works around your schedule to meet your needs. Last year I really saw that put into action for me. It was great to know that I belonged to such a wonderful community of women and friends that would support me and encourage me as life transitioned for me and my family. I appreciate all the support as I have truly met some wonderful women in the La Bella Baskets Family.

SOOO...we got Kayla off to college with as less tears as possible. We ended Kindergarten year for Jada full of fun learning and adventure, and I am happy to say I am still alive and in my right mind (depending on who you ask).

But seriously though, this is what life is all about. I love my family, I love helping others and I just take one day at a time and enjoy that day. It is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it no matter what.

As a mother and wife I understand the busyness of life that many of us face on a daily basis. We get up, spend time in prayer, get our children off to school, maybe volunteer in the school, run errands, prep for dinner, pick up children from school, take children to after school extracurricular activities, cook dinner, go through bedtime routine. This is just a tiny bit of what my day looks like. Can I breath yet... not until I spend some time with hubby, talk with my oldest daughter Kiera and catch up on our shows... just because they are older doesn't mean they don't need mommy too. In the midst of all this I still find time to work my business, mentor team members and enjoy my gifting business.

As moms, we are truly super women! I admire the strength, patience, courage and love that mothers, wives and women all around have. God has blessed us with so much love to give and nurture others with and it is a blessing to be given such an awesome task.

I want to encourage you today to keep going ladies. When you feel like you're at the end of your rope, tie a knot, say a prayer and keep holding on. You are truly loved and appreciated!

At La Bella Baskets we like to especially honor our single mothers with a program called
Baskets Of Smiles
. It's a special program created and launched by La Bella Baskets in December of 2009. At La Bella Baskets, we believe every gift has a purpose, and our purpose is to give back. This is why we have chosen to give to single moms nationwide. We understand the hardships and challenges single moms go through every single day, and we want them to know that we do care about them. Our mission through this program is to empower and uplift women while helping them feel beautiful, important, and cared for.

To show our appreciation, every month we deliver a beautiful Gift Basket called "Beautiful Woman Spa Gift" to a single mom. This gift basket is filled with beautiful Spa and Bath essentials. So after a day of being mommy, she can relax, melt away stress, rejuvenate and heal.
